Spring Break: Waterfalls, Babboons, and Hooligans
Spring Break and Ghana's Independence Day meant we got to spend some more time with these hooligans! Here are a few highights of our staycation here in Accra and our two night vacation to the Volta Region in Eastern Ghana.
Burger King and to the Movies for How to Train your Dragon 3
Playdate! We had over some of their local and Nigerian friends over for lots of swimming, playing soccer, hot dogs, and friend time. (Bradyn kept giggling every time he got up in chicken fighting- didn't make for a fierce competitor haha!)
Botanical Gardens Playground, ropes, ziplines with our buddies the Farnsworths
They had a few animals the kids fed there and Lucy is fitting in quite well with her barefoot travels
At Shai Hills we did some climbing and cave exploring
And we saw some wildlife: antelope, zebra, bats, and babboons
We stayed in a family chalet at Waterfall Lodge. Of course open spaces are their favorite.
Enjoyed some local cuisine under the gazebo
Hiked to Wli falls. It was an easy level hike and my kids were asking where the ropes and rock climbing was for a challenge like at Shai Hills.
Got to experience pumping some water. We weren't near as fast as this kid was when he took over
Went to a Kente weaving village and they got to try it and watch the weavers. Now Bradyn's wondering when we get our loom
Saw how the recycled glass beads were made
We had a great time! We love making these memories
