Proudly Ghanaian

I've posted some about our family, our expat friends and our international school friends.  Today I wanted to focus on some of our purely Ghanaian experiences which are the true jewel of our trip here.

We had a proudly Ghanaian day at the Area office and here are some of Mark's proudly Ghanaian coworkers.  We didn't get pictures of us that day but we didn't look as fabulous as they did!

The men looked great too.

For FHE this week we hosted the young single adults in our ward and had a great time!

We had an Xbox Dance party and we all had a great time and laughed a lot.

Here's an impromptu tag game after church with some of our new friends.

Mark works closely with Kwabina (who also is a great friend and lifesaver and drives Mark home from work each day).  His beautiful wife Eunice came to help me prepare a Ghanaian meal of Marinated then fried chicken, Fried Rice, and plantains.  You can't see it well but Mark was proud of his cutting of the pineapple.  Love the pineapple here!

Lucy and their cute daughter Akosua.

Young men's activity at our place where Dylan and Jaxon instructed how to make chocolate chip cookies.

Then of course they headed out for some football while the cookies baked.

We've got our nonresident cards while working on residency status here.  They messed up on Jaxon's and put his nationality as Ghana.  While we like to say we are now African Americans, Jaxon proudly claims it with "proof".
