Breath of Fresh Air
Sometimes you just need a breath of fresh air. We spent our 4th of July here in Ghana at a beach resort called Lou Moon Lodge where we found our own little paradise to spend time together as a family.
The resort was gorgeous and we had our own beach house on an island where we could get away from the cares of work and city life.
Lucy's flying lessons
We spent our time relaxing and participating in some of the activities offered. We all tried archery but Dylan found a true love for it and got a few bullseyes
Soccer matches were fun but running around barefoot on grass was an even bigger luxury.
Stand up paddle boarding- Jaxon and Dylan both rocked it!
Family volleyball game
Climbing trees- she didn't make it up as far as the lizard
Somebody's having a little too much fun
Table Tennis is their new love. Lucy wants me put put a table in my suitcase at Christmas.
Aren't they cute?
Kayaking in the bay was a highlight for all except Lucy
Lucy and I were out there kayaking as well until we ended up in the big waves zone. We caught some air and might have ended up in the water- oops
Don't worry, she got over it quick. She even went out on the kayak a couple more times.
The weather was great. Summer in Ghana isn't as hot as what we had this spring.
We took a motorboat trip out to the Nzulezo the Ghanaian Village on stilts above the Lake
Bradyn's a little tease- it only took about 7 tries and a quick finger to catch him for a photo without him squinting his eyes closed.
They live and work above water- the main trades being alcohol distillery, farming across the lake, or fishing. This guy was building souvineer boats- yes we bought one.

Sometimes the stars align and the kids get along
It was such a peaceful, beautiful ride despite being told that some wildlife in the lake were alligators, crocodiles, and pythons. Too bad we didn't see any (or luckily so the kids could stay at peace).
